3 Months in......

Hi, Having had the car for 3 months now thought I would provide an update.
On a positive note, the issues with door unlocking have been improved by changing the settings so all doors unlock when the key is near (thanks to whoever on the forum suggested this). It makes multiple people getting in and much out easier. Still an issue when the car auto locks and you stop to collect a passenger -the indoor unlock button is woeful to respond and you can see the passenger thinking why isn't this DIV opening the door.

RANGE
The range has increased slightly (over 200) as the weather has improved. On a warm day last week we had projected range of nearly 280 on a full charge, but my wife said when she put the heated seats on it dropped by 100 miles!!! Wow never seen this before - on our last car heated everything on my knock it down by 30 miles at most. Time will tell but we seem to charge the Tavascan twice as much as the EV6 at the moment for a similar size battery car (the Tavascan should be slightly better). We are doing short local journeys on suburban roads, speeds under 40mph.
The App remains sketchy at best. Often cant communicate with the car so cant check or do anything like remote heating, see what range/charge is left.
KEEPING THINGS CLEAN

The car has a flat "mouth" with lots of grills and the same at the rear end, and lots of knobbly aero bits that are difficult to clean/keep clean. In the UK at the moment the roads are dirty and the car seems to show the dirt a lot. Maybe its because there is so much gloss black, and I find it a chore to clean (normally I love cleaning cars). When clean it looks awesome, but it doesn't seem to last for more than a day before the road grime re-appears. Also the reverse camera is poorly placed and gets caked in dirt, doesn't handle moisture which means you can never see out of it. So I've noticed I am having to clean this more than on any other car we have owned (take a lesson from Mercedes where its hidden behind the badge and stays clean).
THEM DAMN BRAKES
I don't drive the car regularly maybe one or twice a week but I cant get used to or have faith in the brakes. I drive inB mode which means you shouldn't have to press the peddle as much but the regen isn't strong enough to stop you, its after that you get the spongy feel and the panic to press down hard. I am getting loads of Sh&t off of owners on the forums telling me "there is nothing wrong" and "this is normal for an EV" and to "shut up and get used them" or stop moaning there is "nothing wrong with the brakes" - Again it ruins the overall feel of the car, and for what is supposed to be a sporty SUV. The Kia's, Hyundia's BMWs and Merc EV's I've driven never had or would have this problem.
One potential buyer did contact me to ask my opinion. I told them " Please please go for a good test drive" The guy contacted me afterwards and has decided against the Tavascan and thanked me very much for informing him. There are some that can cope and some on the forums and have messaged me here to agree that its not great and ruins the dynamic of what should and nearly is a great car.
THERE BE GREMLINS
Still a few tech glitches in relation to NAV in terms of whole parts of towns not existing or being recognised - hope you don't want to find Luton or many parts of the M1 on the way to Milton Keynes! Apple car play is the solution here, but then why have NAV incorporated that's SOOO bad?? Also it still doesn't recognise speed properly and gives me improper speed alerts e.g. Bong bong 30 - when the limit is 40 - doesn't inspire me to try the autonomous driving! Also the collision avoidance system is insane - my wife called the other day and said she thought she had hit something - she pulled over to let a van pass by in a layby and it thought she was having a collision and hammered on the anchors almost giving her whiplash. I have had this happen twice to me when trying to reverse on to an empty drive. although I'm glad it would save us from having a collision it seems overly harsh to other cars i have driven - they would generally beep to warn first then just kick in - this does it all at once! have a friend who has a BMW XM and he says its prone to panic and induce whiplash too - maybe just a symptom of the tech.
FUTURE WISHES AND THOUGHTS
They can do something to sort the pedal/braking feel out (hardware/Software recall)
They can sort the APP out
Tech Glitches get fixed with updates
Range increases in the better weather
If none of the above happens then this will be our first and last Cupra (and puts me off other VW group cars completely). Mrs H who is the main driver is not a fan at all, and wont have another - and would give it back if we could.
I wrote to Cupra to ask a few questions but was told to take it to the dealer for repair - I'm going to try again and perhaps see the dealer just in case we have a car with Lemon battery and blamange brakes.
Any comments, questions or advice from future/current owners welcome, drop me a line on here or I'm on the Tavascan Owners Forums on Facebook/. Apart from the forum telling me to keep schtumm about the brakes they are a pretty helpful bunch who are happy with their cars.
