The Kia EV6 GT made its debut at Goodwood in the UK this week, impressive stats 576 hp and 0-60 mph time of less than 3.5 seconds! If and when they ever land on these shores will be trying to get me a test drive of one of those bad boys (Kia you owe me :-) )
Pricing still to be announced but if they could bring it in at circa £60k then what an option - a 576 hp Kia! Not much around could touch it. Don't get me wrong, 60k is an awful lot of money but wow what a car this could be.
Enough of the pipe dreams. So our EV6 GT Line (RWD) has been back for a week. I haven't managed to wrestle the keys back off of the Mrs much but its nice to have it back and working properly - so far no funny gremlins or glitches to report. Car is charging and driving nicely, such more of a premium feeling car than the Niro.
On that note congrats to Alex who contacted me via blog to say Kia would only give a petrol car replacement as no EV's were available. After much complaining (not at all coached by me ;-) ) to Kia has managed to get hold of the exact Kie Eniro 4+ (Robert) we had as a loaner we returned to replace his Niro which has gone back with battery failure. It goes to show if you keep complaining in the right places you can get there, they gave him a petrol and wouldn't budge, fair play Alex but he had to put in ALL of the legwork, and poor show Kia.
Have seen one or two more EV6's in the area recently, including a carbon copy black GT line, and the lovely Matt Grey (which will be super rare for the next few years by the sound of it as Kia wont make them and are cancelling/amending orders).
Will do a more detailed car return blog when I can get hold of the keys again. On the other car front I've sold my diesel guzzling Mercedes E class and replaced with a slightly less guzzling and highly more impractical 2006 BMW Z4. Doing my bit for the environment by choosing a family EV and recycling an old BMW so it doesn't go to landfill ;-) . Bye for now.
